Operation that is responsible for the scrap or work in process.
Use
In the explanation facility for the scrap, this field shows the number of the operation at which the quality problems occurred that led to the scrap.
Examples
Suppose you are manufacturing tables. Your production department reports the following costs:
Operation 010: 4 table legs turned Cost: USD 100
Operation 020: Table legs glued to table top Cost: USD 50
Because the gluing process is faulty the entire table becomes scrap.
The scrap costs total USD 150.
The error occurred at operation 020. This operation is therefore responsible for causing the costs of both operations 010 and 020 to become scrap costs.
