Definition
Specifies whether the nota fiscal is a standard or special-purpose nota fiscal.
Examples of special-purpose notas fiscaís include the complementar (similar to a credit or debit memo); corrections; cancelations; and the conhecimento (for transportation).

Use
When the nota fiscal is replicated to SAP R/3, the category is transferred along with the rest of the data. It is then used in SAP R/3 for the purposes of statutory reporting.
