Documentation
Definition
The market coverage product type classifies the edition as a market coverage product (MC product).
Editions that are sold by means of MSD orders do not need to be classified as MC products.
Use
Caution: Sales and shipping of MC products are performed according to the MC product type. You generally only need to classify an edition as an MC product for special logistics processing functions (see MC example).
Example
MC product type: market saturation
If an edition is assigned the MC product type market saturation, you can define it as an MC product. The MC product is assigned to a carrying edition (by means of a separate combination).
The MC product is not sold by means of MSD subscriptions. The MC product is delivered to all households that do not receive the carrying edition as part of an MSD subscription.
For example, you might use the MC product type 'market saturation' for a weekly newspaper (MC product) that is distributed to all households that do not receive a daily newspaper (which is the carrying edition). This enables you to execute market saturation of ads and inserts.
