Definition
The base year is the first year in which a media product is published.
Use
You must enter the base year for media products that are weekly copies with the publication frequency weekly, bi-weekly, weekly in year or weekly in month. This means the weekly copy can be assigned correctly to the calendar week in automatic media issue numbering.
Example
In the following table, the copy with the publication period 12/31/2001 (publication period type = date) is published in the year 2001 but the week assigned this publication period is actually the first calendar week in 2002.

Dependencies
The base year is proposed as the calculation basis for determining the year in automatic generation or manual addition of a media issue. This means the media issue is assigned year number '1' in the base year.
