Definition
The base year is the first year in which a media product is published.
Use
You must enter the base year for media products that are weekly issues with the period units weekly, twice weekly, weekly in year or weekly in month. This means the weekly issue can be assigned correctly to the calendar week during automatic numbering of media issues.
Example
As is demonstrated by the following table, the copy with the publication period 12/31/2001 (publication period type = date) is published in the year 2001 but the week in which this publication period lies is the first calendar week of the year 2002.

Dependencies
The base year is proposed as the calculation basis for determining the year number during automatic generation or when adding a media issue manually. This means the media issue in the base year has year number "1".
