Definition
The ID code type controls the use of the ID code.
Use
To assign an ID code to a media product family, a media product or a media issue, you must specify the following:
- ID code
- ID code type
Dependencies
The ID code type controls:
- the number areas and number ranges used for the ID code
- whether or not multiple usage is allowed for the ID code
- the check algorithm used for the ID code entry
The system uses the ID code type specified to check the dependencies listed above and displays warnings or error messages if applicable. The checking rules are defined in Customizing.
