Definition

This field defines which objects (M/AM or M/SD) are to be used for customer logon in the Internet.

Use

The following settings are possible:

• Use M/SD objects:
• The system checks against M/SD orders and billing documents to identify a customer if the Order number can be used for identification and Billing document number can be used for identification indicators have been selected.
• The system checks against M/SD orders and billing documents during the customer check if the Order number can be used for identification and Billing document number can be used for identification indicators have been selected.
• The system checks whether the customer identified is a sales customer.
• Use M/AM objects:
• The system checks against the M/AM orders and billing documents to identify a customer if the Order number can be used for identification and Billing document number can be used for identification indicators have been selected.
• The system checks against the M/AM orders and billing documents during the customer check if the Order number can be used for the check and Invoice number can be used for the check indicators are selected.
• The system checks whether the customer identified is a media customer.
  
• Use M/AM and M/SD objects:
• The system checks against M/SD and M/AM objects to identify a customer. Identification is successful if the order number (billing number) to be checked belongs to an M/SD or M/AM order (billing document) for the customer.
• M/SD and M/AM objects are used during the customer check. The check is successful if the order number (billing number) to be checked belongs to an M/SD or M/AM order (billing document) for the customer.
• The system does not check whether the customer identified is a sales customer or media customer.

The 'Use M/SD objects' setting should only be chosen for M/SD Internet scenarios, such as subscription sales. The 'Use M/AM objects' setting should only be used for M/AM Internet scenarios, such as entry of classified ads. the 'Use M/AM and M/SD objects' setting is recommended for cross-application Internet scenarios, such as changing addresses or Internet users. This applies particularly if these scenarios are to be used differently by customers from the M/SD area to those customers working in the M/AM area.
