Definition

This setting specifies the role occupied by the business partner logging on in the Internet.

The setting affects processing in the following two contexts:

  1. At logon, if the business partner logs on using data such as the order number and M/SD objects are taken into account. In this case, the business partner is identified in the role recorded for the order number. When the system checks an identified business partner with an order number, it checks whether the business partner has the specified role in this order. If there is no role specified, the system checks the role 'Sold-to Party'.
  2. When selecting orders to be changed in the Internet scenarios for subscription service (Vacation Service, Change Payment Data, Complaints). In this case, the system lists the orders in which the business partner who has logged on occupies the specified role.

Example

The vacation service is to be carried out by the ship-to party. A logon scenario in which the role 'Ship-to Party' is specified is set up and specified for the IAC variant for Vacation Service. When a business partner logs on, the system transfers an order number for identification purposes. The system identifies the current ship-to party for an order. If the check is performed successfully, the system reads the orders in which the business partner appears as ship-to party and lists them so that changes can be made.
