Definition
By assigning a material type to an ad insert category, you define which material type is assigned to an ad insert that has been created from an order in the media product master.
If no material type has been assigned to the ad insert category, the system offers you periodical product master maintenance instead of maintenance of the media product master.
Explanation
If ad inserts have been created in the media product master, the systems creates material master records from a technical perspective. The material type assigned to a material master record affects field selection.
