Definition
Key that identifies the e-mail address as a recipient for Electronic Document Delivery.
Use
- In Customizing for electronic document delivery, in the activity Define Usage Types, you define a 3-digit key with a short and long text.
- You assign the usage type to at least one data record in the Customizing activity Assign Usage Types.
- You use the usage types defined to make the e-mail addresses for the SAP Business Partner (address-dependent and/or address-independent communication data) available as the e-mail address for electronic document delivery using the Comment function.

Notes
You can specify several usage types for an e-mail address in the Comment for the e-mail address if you separate these using commas (for example "OCS, OBS, ...").
The usage type '*' defines an e-mail address that can use all usage types in electronic document delivery. The usage type '*' must also be recorded in the Customizing activity Define Usage Types.
