Definition
Refers to the name of the replacement file that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assigns you with its electronic filing system, in the case that you need to send a replacement file for an incorrect original or correction electronic file.
Procedure
Only enter the file name if you are sending a replacement file. Do not enter anything if you are sending an original, correction, or test file.
Examples
Assume that your transmitter control code (TCC) is 44444 and you have submitted your first original file to the IRS. If there are problems with the file, and the IRS requires a replacement file, they would assign you the file name ORIG.44444.0001.
