Definition
If this flag is set, this means that this rule should be inherited.
Use
Dependencies
The "Inherit rule" column is only available if the person responsible for this object type explicitly permitted the inheritance of rules.
In this context, the GENERAL policy type plays a particular role. It represents a kind of collective policy type for retention rules for which particular rules apply during inheritance:
- If an instance only has policies of the GENERAL type, and it has been specified that the rules are to be inherited, then the instance inherits rules for all policy types of the father. If the father also only has policies of the GENERAL type, then only these are inherited.
- If an instance has registered different policy types, and if it was specified in their policy that the tax rules (TAX) are to be inherited, for example, then only these rules are inherited from the father. If the father only has GENERAL, then the rules of this type are inherited.
