Definition

The most important characteristics of the index series are specified in the index class.

  • Age-dependent/year-dependent
    • Age-dependent index figures are based on the nth year that the asset belongs to the asset portfolio. They represent an annual rate of change starting with the asset acquisition date. Year 1 has the index figure 100.
    • Year-dependent index figures are based on certain fiscal years, and represent a rate of change starting with a certain base year. The base year has the index figure 100.
  • Calculation based on previous year/historical indexing
    • Using calculation based on the previous year, the system determines the current replacement value based on the replacement value from the previous year.
    • Using historical indexing, the system determines the current replacement value based on the historical APC. Use this type of calculation when no replacement values from the previous year are available (such as after the asset data transfer from a previous system).
