Definition
The reason for investment describes the impetus for making a capital investment (for example, the investment is a replacement asset, or an expansion investment). You define the allowed investment reasons in Customizing.
The investment reason for appropriation requests corresponds to the investment reason for WBS elements, internal orders, assets and investment program positions. In contrast to these objects, an appropriation request can have more than one investment reason. The appropriation request can be divided among these investment reasons using percentages. The total of these percentages always has to equal 100%.
Use
The investment reason is primarily for informational purposes. It can be used as a sort criterion in reporting.
