Definition

The investment reason describes the purpose of the investment (for example, initial acquisition or replacement investment). You define the allowed investment reasons in Customizing.

The investment reason for appropriation requests is essentially the same as for WBS elements, internal orders, fixed assets, and investment program positions. However, in contrast to those objects, the appropriation request can have any number of investment reasons, each with a percentage distribution. The total of these percentages has to equal 100%.

Use

The investment reason is primarily for informational purposes. You can use it as a sort criterion in reporting.
