Use
By assigning the current appropriation request to an original request, you specify that the current appropriation request represents an alternate way of implementing the original request, or a different alternative to the original request.
You can assign an appropriation request to only one original request. This assignment is possible only if the appropriation request is not itself an original request.
Example
Appropriation request C is an alternate to B, and B is an alternate to A.
(It follows then, that C is also an alternate to A).
You represent these interconnections in the system as follows:
One appropriation request has to be the original request.
Assume the original request is A.
In its master data, B is assigned to original request A.
In its master data, C is also assigned to original request A.
In its master data, A cannot be assigned to an original request, since A itself is an original request.
