Time period (in periods) during which the appropriation request will pay for itself, on the basis of the preinvestment analysis.
For a payback period that does not equal an exact number of years, this time period indicates the number of periods, in addition to the years, that the investment should be used.
Example
The payback period is 7.5 years. The fiscal year version is a calendar year with 12 periods (months).
