Definition
The content component hierarchy variant is used to distinguish several hierarchies of the same hierarchy type. You can define admissible variants of a hierarchy in customizing.
Examples
If the publications within a client differ to such an extent that it is no longer sensible to put these in a hierarchy with a common structure, you will need a separate structural hierarchy variant for each publication.
