Use

The above-mentioned reasons are composed as follows:

Two digits stand for the actual reason for creation of a claim item grouping, and up to two digits for further specification of a reason.

Dependencies

This field is always used in claims processing together with the Reason field (reason for creation of a claim item grouping).

Example

Example for hospital admission reason:

The policyholder has been treated in hospital as an inpatient. An accident at work was the reason for hospital admission.

The admission reason has the following key:

  • 0102

    01 stands for the reason Inpatient Hospital Treatment

    02 stands for further specification Accident at Work/Accident on Way From or To Work / Occupational Illness (according to German Code of Social Law) .

Example for hospital discharge/transfer reason:

The policyholder discharged himself/herself from hospital against the physician's advice, and is still unable to work.

The discharge reason has the following key:

  • 042

    04 stands for the reason Treatment Terminated Against Physicians Advice

    2 stands for further specification Discharged as Unable to Work
