Documentation
Definition
Classifies a subclaim.
Use
Like the internal claim type, the subclaim type is used at subclaim level.
If you create a subclaim during processing of a claim, you must specify a subclaim type. This subclaim type controls which rules apply in processing of the subclaim. It determines the possible benefit types in the expenses category and the possible reserve types, for example.
Dependencies
You define which rules apply for a subclaim type in IMG activity Configure Internal Claim Types. Here you also specify the permitted coverage types for each subclaim type.
You can define multiple subclaim types for each internal claim type. This enables you to group subclaims from different areas into one claim (such as inpatient hospital treatment with the associated patient transport subclaim).
In this IMG activity you also assign the relevant benefit type tree in the expenses category, and thus the permitted expenses benefit types, to a subclaim type.
Example
- Injury to persons
- Property damage
- Inpatient hospital treatment
- Orthodontic treatment
- Travel costs
