Documentation
Definition
Amount that exceeds the limit.
This is calculated as follows:
Total amount (in other words, without the limit) minus limit.
Use
The cases in which this is required include the following:
- If a claim item is rejected, and is then treated as a limit of zero
- If the deductible exceeds the amount claimed
- To enter the payout amount, in other words to create a payment item
Example
- Example 1:
A claim is made for $ 300. The deductible is $ 500. The field therefore has a value of $ 500 minus $ 300 = $ 200.
- Example 2:
A sum of $ 300 is to be paid out. A deductible of $ 100 is applied. The field therefore has a value of $ 300 minus $ 100 = $ 200. Payment items to the amount of $ 300 and $ 100 are created.
