Use
Means that in direct processing the system applies a negative value to the value per unit of a benefits catalog item.
You can use this indicator to correct postings that have already been made, for example. Dependencies
Example
Facts
You have a "Medical Devices" catalog with item 1 (Crutches). The value per unit for this item is USD 10.
You have posted an invoice item for this benefits catalog item (two crutches * USD 10 = USD 20) and paid out this amount.
At a later point in time you receive an amended invoice from the service provider. Instead of two crutches, only one was actually given to the patient. Via direct input you now want to post an invoice item for the above-mentioned benefits catalog item, but with a negative amount.
Practical implementation
To do this, you really need a second item "Crutches" in the benefits catalog with a negative value. However, this would increase the size of the benefits catalog out of all proportion (and in the worst case the item would exist twice).
Instead of working with the new benefits catalog item with a negative amount, use the original benefits catalog item and set this indicator. During direct input processing the system then reads the value per unit from the catalog and multiplies this value with -1.
