Definition

Use

The following reserving methods exist:

  • Statistical reserving

    You can define an amount in the Proposed Reserve field. When a subclaim with the relevant subclaim type is created in claims processing , the system sets the amount of the reserve to match the amount proposed here. In claims processing the user can change this statistical reserve manually.

  • Manual reserving

    In claims processing the user can set or change the reserve manually.

  • Reserving via compensation calculation

    The system calculates the reserve on the basis of the claim items.

    The system considers the result of the compensation calculation, since deductibles, underinsurance, and so on, are not relevant for the payment.

    In claims processing the user can also change this calculated reserve amount manually.

    Example: If the payment amount of a claim item is reduced by a deductible, the system only considers the reduced payment amount for reserving.

  • Reserving via redistribution

    If the reserve is increased (manually or automatically by the system), the system redistributes the amount over the claims according to a specific distribution key.
