Use
Means that this task must be executed before the user or the system can continue with the relevant process. This setting is relevant for most tasks. We therefore recommend that you initially flag all tasks as process-preventing.
However, there are some tasks whose execution is endangered by their own existence. Do not set this indicator with such tasks.
Examples of such tasks that should not be process-preventing:
- The Close Claim task must not prevent the Close Claim process. Otherwise, you would not be able to close the claim, since at least the Close Claim task has to be processed. With the Close Claim task, do not explicitly set the Process-Preventing Task indicator.
- The Approve task must not prevent the approval process. With the Approve task, do not set the Process-Preventing Task indicator.
Dependencies
Whether this indicator is actually considered in the application depends on the setting in IMG activity Configure Display of Function Codes at the level of Control of FCodes for Context Menu/Push Buttons in the Interactive Tasks field.
- Only if you select the entry Only Process-Preventing Tasks Suppress This Process in this field is the setting for the process-preventing task considered.
- If you select one of the other two entries, the Process-Preventing Task indicator is ignored.
Here is an explanation of the other two entries in the Interactive Tasks field:
- If you select the entry Existing Task Does Not Suppress This Process in this field, no task can prevent the process. In other words, if the Process-Preventing Task indicator is set in a task, this setting is ignored.
- If you select the entry Every Existing Task Suppresses This Process in this field, each task prevents the process. In other words, if the Process-Preventing Task indicator is not set in a task, the setting is ignored.
