Definition

Use

Means that the system uses this evaluation criterion to make a preselection for the evaluation of external services. The other evaluation criteria are not taken into consideration until after this preselection.

You can use the preselection criterion to reduce the list of possible services in advance, and therefore to improve performance during determination of the ranking list.

Note the following:

  • Per transaction type you must flag one evaluation criterion as being the preselection criterion.
  • This preselection is made regardless of the priority specified for the evaluation criterion.

Dependencies

In the preselection with this evaluation criterion, the system accesses the following values:

  • Upper threshold value according to the Customizing settings
  • Actual value determined for the relevant evaluation criterion for the external service

Example

The evaluation criterion Distance is the preselection criterion. An upper threshold value of 15 has been defined for this evaluation criterion.

In the procurement process in claims processing, the system firstly only determines those services that meet this evaluation criterion, in other words, those services in a radius of 15 miles (or kilometers). The system only takes these preselected services for the evaluation according to other evaluation criteria and for creating the ranking list of services.
