Documentation
Definition
Indicates how long it takes for a payment that is created in the Claims Management system to reach and be credited to the account of the payee.
Use
This value is used if an invoice contains discount items. This lead time is deducted from the date of the payment target (for discount item). This is the way of determining which discount should be applied.
Here follows a description of exactly how the discount is determined:
If discount items exist for an invoice, but no discount has been applied yet, the system checks whether the highest discount can be applied.
The following applies:
- If the payment target (of the highest discount) minus the lead time is not in the past (see below under Example), the system automatically applies the highest discount.
- If the payment target (of the highest discount) minus the lead time is in the past, the system displays a dialog box. In this dialog box you can select which discount should be applied.
Dependencies
The lead time of a payment is usually three days. However, this value might vary in different countries or with different customers.
Example
In the following example the lead time is three days. There are three discounts with different payment targets.
Discount Payt Target Date Minus Lead Time (i.e. -3 days)
3 % 6 March 3 March
2 % 7 March 4 March
1 % 9 March 6 March
The following table shows which discount is applied with different dates:
Curr.Date Discount Applied Description
28 February 3% discount without dialog box 3% is the highest discount and is not in the past
3 March 3% discount without dialog box See above
4 March User selects discount in dialog box 3% discount is in the past
