Definition
Higher-level benefit type from the benefit type tree that you can use for grouping subordinate benefit types.
Use
This assignment can be used as input help. This means that the possible benefit types displayed in the F4 help for the Benefit Type field are restricted. This enables you to structure large benefit type trees. The system then only displays the benefit types that are relevant in the appropriate context.
This limitation is not restrictive, meaning that you can change the group you have entered at any time, or not enter any group at all. You can also enter a benefit type manually.
Dependencies
Before you can use a benefit type as a Benefit Type for Claim Item Grouping, you must flag the benefit type in the Claims Management implementation guide (IMG). You do this as follows:
- Call IMG activity Configure Benefit Type Trees.
- Select the required benefit type tree and then press the Change button.
- Set the BenT Grouping flag with the relevant benefit types.
Example
- When you are processing a claim and enter the benefit type Orthoses in the Group field, the F4 help for the Benefit Type field only displays those benefit types that are subordinate to the Orthoses benefit type in the benefit type tree, such as Molded Orthoses, Heel Inserts, Specially Made Orthoses.
- When you are processing a claim, and structure the benefit types in the Group field into outpatient or inpatient, for example, the F4 help for the Benefit Type field only displays those benefit types for outpatient and inpatient treatment.
