Use
For each claim item grouping category you can define a hierarchy level ranging from 1 to 8, where 1 means the highest hierarchy level and 8 means the lowest hierarchy level.
The system then uses the claim item grouping category with the highest hierarchy level (see "Example# below) to perform the compensation calculation (and to set reserves as well).
If a subclaim has several claim item grouping categories with the same hierarchy level, the system performs the compensation calculation with all claim item grouping categories that have the highest hierarchy level (see "Example" below).
The hierarchy levels for the claim item grouping categories delivered by SAP are predefined and as follows:
- Hierarchy level 1:
- Generated reimbursement
- Reimbursement
- Payment proposal
- Hierarchy level 2:
- Invoice
- Per diem sickness benefit
- Per diem hospital benefit
- Invalidity
- Injury
- Accidental death
- Hierarchy level 3:
- Benefit decision/order
- Hierarchy level 4:
- Cost estimate
- Hierarchy level 5:
- Appraisal receipt
- Hierarchy level 6:
- Appraisal order
- Hierarchy level 7:
- Prescription
- Hierarchy level 8:
- Request

Example
Example for consideration of claim item grouping categories with different hierarchy levels:
A subclaim contains a prescription (hierarchy level 7) and an invoice (hierarchy level 2). The system then always performs the compensation calculation with the invoice, because the invoice has a higher hierarchy level than the prescription.
Example for consideration of claim item grouping categories with the same hierarchy levels:
A subclaim contains a prescription, an invoice, and an invalidity (hierarchy level 2). The system then always performs the compensation calculation with the invoice and the invalidity, because the invoice and the invalidity both have the highest hierarchy level in this subclaim. The prescription is not considered in the compensation calculation.
