Definition
Determines the sequence (ranking) in which the system considers evaluation criteria when evaluating external services.
Use
This means that you can control which evaluation criterion should receive special consideration in a certain transaction type of the procurement process, and that you can set up a hierarchy of evaluation criteria.
Note the following:
- You can specify a value between 1 and 99 for the priority. Value 1 means that this is the highest priority.
- You can assign the same priority for several evaluation criteria.
Dependencies
- Before the priorities are used, the system makes a preselection on the basis of the preselection criterion.
- For each priority you can also control consideration of evaluation criteria by way of the weighting. Note that the total of weightings per priority must always be 100.
Example
Example 1
With the transaction type Repair Shop, you regard the distance to be the most important evaluation criterion. For this reason, you assign priority 1 to the evaluation criterion Distance, and priority 2 to each of the evaluation criteria Customer Satisfaction, Price, and Service.
The system firstly evaluates the external services on the basis of the evaluation criterion Distance. If the same value is obtained for two external services (for example, distance = 5 miles), the other evaluation criteria are then applied to determine the rank.
Example 2
For the transaction type Repair Shop, you have a preferred automobile repair shop that scores highly in terms of customer satisfaction. For this reason, you want this repair shop to be given special consideration in the evaluation of external services, even if other repair shops are nearer to the accident location. In this case, the evaluation criteria of Price and Service are less important than the distance.
In this case, assign the priorities as follows:
- Evaluation criterion Customer Satisfaction: Priority 1
- Evaluation criterion Distance: Priority 2
- Evaluation criterion Price: Priority 3
- Evaluation criterion Service: Priority 3
