Classifies a coverage
Use
When you capture a claim item in claims processing, a coverage type is required for the claim item. Sometimes you need to enter this coverage type manually or select it from the F4 input help, and sometimes the system determines the coverage type automatically. The coverage type indicates which coverage exists for this claim item according to the contract and which benefit types are permitted.
Dependencies
The coverage type is closely linked with the policy product and internal claim type.
- Policy product
The coverage type indicates the risks for which the policy product offers insurance protection and which benefit types are permitted for each insured risk.
- Internal claim type
You define which coverage types of a policy product are permitted per subclaim type in IMG activity Configure Internal Claim Types.
