Definition
Classifies a coverage.
Use
When you enter a claim item during claims processing, a coverage type for the claim item is required. Sometimes you have to enter this coverage type manually or using the F4 input help, and sometimes the system determines the coverage type automatically. The coverage type indicates which coverage applies for this claim item, according to the contract, and which benefit types are permitted.
Dependencies
The coverage type is closely associated with the policy product and the internal claim type.
- Policy product:
The coverage type indicates which risks are covered by the policy product and which benefit types are permitted for each insured risk.
- Internal claim type:
You define which coverage types of a policy product are permitted for each subclaim type in IMG activity Configure Internal Claim Types.
