Documentation
Definition
Classifies a claim.
Use
The claim type dictates which rules apply for processing a claim. Screen sequences are also defined by the internal claim type.
There is no difference between the terms "claim type" and "internal claim type".
- The term "claim type" is used for the Claim Without Product Customizing scenario.
- The term "internal claim type" is used for the Claim with Product Customizing scenario.
Dependencies
- In the Claim with Product Customizing scenario (in other words, customizing takes place in the Claims Management system):
When you create a new claim, the system automatically derives the internal claim type from the policy product and incident type.
- In the Claim Without Product Customizing scenario (in other words, product customizing takes place in the product system):
When you create a new claim, you enter the claim type manually.
