Documentation
Definition
System to which you should post posting data from the procurement system. This will usually be the system in which you are now working (see also G/L account number).
General information on logical systems:
In client maintenance you can assign a logical system to a client.
The logical system is relevant for the following SAP areas:
- ALE, general: Communication takes place between two or more logical systems.
- ALE business processes (such as cost center accounting): Definition of the system in which a certain application operates. You can only make master data changes, for instance, in this system.
- Workflow objects: The key of a workflow object always contains information on the logical system in which the object is located.
Note the following when you are involved in maintenance of the logical system:
- The logical system must be unique across your enterprise. It must not be used by any other system in the ALE integrated system.
- In a live system, you cannot change the logical system if a value that is not initial has been entered at some stage. If a non-initial logical system is changed subsequently, it might be the case that you can no longer find documents from your own system. If the logical system of a document reference does not correspond with your own, the system assumes that the document is in another system.
