Definition
Note: This amount can refer both to payments as well as reserves. You use the specification in the Activity field to control which of these processes the amount refers to. The amount then has the following meaning:
- Payment:
Maximum limit for an individual payment in a claim up to which a user may execute the relevant activity (pay or release) in processing of a payment.
- Reserve:
Maximum limit for a reserve change in a claim up to which a user may execute the relevant activity in processing of a reserve.
Example: In a claim the reserve has been set at USD 5,000. According to the customizing settings the limit for the user is USD 2,000. If the user increases the reserve in claims processing, the amount must not exceed USD 7,000. Otherwise, the principle of dual control comes into force.
Use
If this limit is exceeded in a claim, the principle of dual control comes into force in the relevant process. A superior is informed via workflow, and this superior must approve or reject the amount.
