Definition

You use this setting to control the use of configuration data for the "SAML Authentication" logon procedure for this node.

Caution: You do not use this setting to specify whether an SAML logon is possible or not. To deactivate the use of SAML, you must modify the list of valid logon procedures for this node.

Use

The possible settings are as follows:

  • Yes: The configuration data is used.
  • No: The configuration data is not used. If SAML is used (this is the case when the URL contains the "SAMLart" parameter), then it is used with fixed default values (see below).
  • Not specified: Whether configuration data is used for this node or not depends on the setting of its parent node.
    • If the parent node has the setting "Yes" or "No", the this setting applies.
    • If all parent nodes have the setting "Not specified", then this is interpreted as "No".

Dependencies

To edit the SAML settings for this node, choose "SAML Configuration". You can also use the ICF inheritance mechanism to copy the valid configuration settings for this node from a parent node.

Caution: If the "Not specified" setting is chosen for this node, and for all its parent nodes, the configuration settings are ignored, even if you have entered data for them. Instead, the system uses the standard settings (RFC destination for J2EE Engine: SAPJ2EE; permitted logon procedures: all).

Note: To find out which configuration settings are being used at runtime, select a node and use the "Display Inheritance" function on the "Maintain Services" screen.
