Use
Note: This indicator is only relevant for tasks, in other words, the indicator Entry Is a Task has been set. It is not relevant for log entries.
If you set the indicator, this means that this task is a "purely manual task". Consequently, it does not participate in many functions available in Activity Management. In other words, the task cannot be created or completed automatically by a control predicate or an action. When you are processing a claim, you can only create this task manually and individually (but as often as you like) and then only complete it manually and individually.
If you do not set this indicator, the task is an automatic task.
Further Notes:
- "Purely manual tasks" should not be confused with "manual" tasks that participate in Activity Management. With "manual tasks" you define in IMG activity Configure Internal Claim Types which automatic tasks may also be created manually.
- Only flag a task as just a manual task if this is absolutely necessary. This is because in normal circumstances tasks should participate in activity management.
- If a lot of "purely manual tasks" are used in routine operations, you should check which of these tasks could be replaced by automatic tasks.
Dependencies
- As the text of the task can be changed by the user, the business-related significance is no longer coupled with the task definition. Only the text provides information on what the significance of the task is at runtime, but the text cannot be evaluated in a structured manner. "Purely manual tasks" therefore cannot be evaluated automatically.
- You are unable to use this task in a control predicate, nor in the action Create Task.
Example
A purely manual task could be: Freely Definable Task. A claim handler can select this task if the selection of "manual tasks" does not contain a task suitable for the task in mind. The claim handler can then adjust the text of the task to reflect the current requirement, such as Invoice item 12 in invoice 4711 is unclear. Clarify with colleagues.
