Definition

Describes the direction of the process:

  • Packing:
    Increases the amount of stock in a handling unit.
  • Unpacking:
    Decreases the amount of stock in a handling unit.

Example

  • Packing:
    • Either creates a handling unit with stock in it or increases the packed quantity in an existing handling unit that is already in an HU-managed storage location.
  • Unpacking:
    • Unpacks or deletes a handling unit in an HU-managed storage location.
    • Clears a partial quantity of a handling unit - goods issue to cost center or production.
