Definition
When you assign two truck routes to each other at a higher or lower level in the truck route hierarchy, you define the relationship between the two truck routes by means of the truck route hierarchy type.
Examples
The following truck route hierarchy types are possible:
- Basic truck route
- Trunk route
- Split route
A basic truck route departs from a plant and supplies the trunk routes assigned to it. If a basic route is overloaded, the freight can be distributed among a number of split routes.
