Definition

Minimize number of "dependent objects" (see also note 923657)

Use

During the object collection of the commitment creation for an object, usually the total amount of "dependent objects" is determined and the commitment creation is carried out for these objects.

Dependencies between HR objects (such as position and persons) are defined by:

  • Personnel numbers <-> positions: Staff links
  • Personnel numbers <-> personnel numbers: Assignment to the same central person (if the functions for concurrent employment (CE) were activated in the system).

Set this indicator if you want to minimize the amount of dependent objects.

Dependencies

Example

If for example a person P1 occupies position S1 and the same position has other persons (P2,#, PN) assigned to it, the system also reads position S1 and the other assigned persons P2,#,PN, for person P1 with the commitment creation and creates commitment for these.

If an error occurs during processing for a particular object in this, all other dependent objects are also flagged as incorrect. This means that payroll cannot run for these persons because they are 'dependently incorrect'.

If you are frequently confronted with this problem in your system, activate the switch.
