Definition

Grouping of forms that determines certain properties of forms.

Use

When you select a form class, you determine important properties of the form:

  • The form class groups forms according to business aspects (for example, salary statement or time statement).
  • The form class restricts the amount of available data. For instance, forms belonging to the Time Statement class can contain the following data:
    • HR master data
    • Time evaluation data

      You cannot use any data from the payroll results in forms belonging to the Time Statement class.

  • The form class determines which MetaNet is proposed by the Form Workplace when a new form is created.
  • The form class determines the logical database that is used in the print output program of the form for data selection.

    Form classes that do not permit data from the payroll results, use the logical database PNP.

    Form classes that do permit data from the payroll results, use the logical database for Payroll.
