Definition

Form groupings that determine certain form characteristics.

Use

When you select a form class, you determine important characteristics of the form:

• The form class groups forms according to business characteristics (for example, wage statement or time statement).
• The form class determines which MetaNet is proposed when creating a new form with the Forms Workplace.
• The form class determines which report class is proposed when creating a new form with the Forms Workplace.
• The form class determines which fields may appear on the selection screens of the print program for the forms. You determine which of the permissible selection fields actually appear in the print program in the Forms Workplace for the relevant form.
• The form class restricts the available data. For example, forms in the time statement class can contain the following data:
• HR master data
• Time evaluation data

  You cannot use any data from the payroll results in the forms of the time statement class.
