Definition

In this activity, you can define the expert profile elements used in Expert Finder and the attributes that the expert profile element should have.
In the second process step Define Input Help for Expert Profile Elements, you can determine the structure of input help for an expert profile element.

An expert profile element corresponds to a field in Expert Finder. Each element is displayed on the user interface in Expert Finder depending on which expert profile group and position you assign it. You can virtually define any number of expert profile elements and attributes.

When you create an expert, the system generates an individual expert profile depending on the expert profile elements and element groups you define, and whether you assign the expert to one or more expert communities. Experts use the expert profile to store or update their expert data.

Activities

Perform the activities as follows:

  1. In the Define Expert Profile Elements activity, you determine the expert profile elements that you want to be displayed in the expert profile.
To create a new entry, select the New Entries pushbutton in the change mode.
To process an existing entry, select the relevant line and select the Details pushbutton.

Process the input fields as follows:
    1. In the Element field, define an expert profile element, and in the Name field, enter the appropriate name.
The element is displayed in Expert Finder according to the entry in the Name field.
    2. In the Semantic Attribute field, you can assign a semantic attribute to an expert profile element.
However, you must have defined the semantic attribute for the expert profile element in the Define Semantic Attributes process step.

      Group Box Data Origin:
    3. In the Data Origin group box, use input help to determine from which system data is read. Different fields are offered for processing, depending on the entry you make.

    4. In the Input Help field, select whether an input help should be assigned to the expert profile element, and what input help type the expert profile element should have.
You can process input help for an element separately in the Assign Input Help Per Expert Profile Element (V_T7XP_ELEM_VAL) view.
    5. Specify the required field length for display in the expert profile and on the detail screen.
    6. If you want to enable users to enter a user-defined text, enter the required number of lines for the user-defined text box.
    7. If you want to copy an element from the HR system, and the element key to be added to the value table automatically, select the Automatic Generation of Input Help checkbox.
    8. If users have to select an entry from input help, select the Required Entry field.
    9. If necessary, store a hyperlink and a name. This link is displayed in the expert profile.
    10. In the Profile Link or Detail Link field, store a hyperlink, and in the Name field its name, if required.
    11. In the Description field, you can enter a text that is displayed as a quick info when users position their cursor on the element.
  2. In the Assign Input Help Per Expert Profile Element activity, define a key (abbreviation of name) for each expert profile element, and the name of the values that are offered for selection in input help.
    1. Call the activity and select the required expert profile element from the dialog box.
    2. Store a key for the selected element, and a label.

    3. Example
For the expert profile element Foreign Languages, store all required foreign languages and in the Key field, assign a value (for example, FR) to each language. In the Name field, assign the relevant label for the foreign language (for example, French).
