Documentation
Definition
Defines the period to which the system assigns cost items when collecting data from Payroll that, according to the payroll results, occur in an employee's inactive period. The system can also assign the cost items to the employee's inactive period or his or her last active period.
Some wage types relevant for cost accounting generated in Payroll are not explicitly assigned to a WPBP period (see Work Center/Basic Pay Split). This is the case with the wage type Employer Expense Social Insurance, for example. The system assigns such wage types for posting data from Payroll to Accounting to the last existing WPBP period to determine the account assignment for Controlling. In the case of employees who leave the company during the payroll period, the system assigns the wage types to the inactive period after the leaving.
When you execute a cost planning run in Personnel Cost Planning and Simulation, the system only includes data from the period in which the employee was still active at the company. It does not include any cost items generated from wage types that are assigned to an inactive period.
Use
If you use the collected data for Budget Planning and Budget Execution, set this indicator. If the indicator is set, the system saves the cost items for the period to which they are assigned according to the payroll result. This is regardless of whether it is an inactive period. The system creates the funds commitment for the period for which they can later be reduced via the posting from Payroll.
If you want to use the data collected for creating personnel cost plans, do not set this indicator. If you do not set this indicator, the system always assigns the cost items to the last active period. This is regardless of whether the wage types from which they were generated are assigned to inactive periods. This means that the costs are included in the personnel cost plan.
