Definition
Specifies whether you want dependent cost items to have the period and periodicity of the basis cost items they are based on.
Use
If you set this indicator, the SAP sytstem automatically adopts for dependent cost items the period and periodicity of the respective basis cost items.
If you do not set the indicator, you must edit the periods for the basis and dependent cost item on the detail screen. In that case the period is always set as Monthly.

Examples
Example 1
For the cost item Social Insurance Contribution you want the SAP system to adopt the period and periodicity of the basis cost item Basic Salary. In that case you set the indicator.
When you have run the data collection, the Basic Salary cost item has, for example, the period 01.01.2002 to 31.12.2002 and the periodicity Monthly. For the Social Insurance Contribution cost item the SAP system adopts the period and the periodicity.
Example 2
You want the SAP system to generate the Bonus cost item in March, depending on the Basic Salary cost object, and in doing so to take account of the amount of basic salary for January. In that case you do not set the indicator.
To take into account the basic salary from January and generate the bonus in March, you must make the following selections on the detail screen: under Basis Cost Item: Include Amount from Month, select January as the period for the current year, and under Generate Dependent Cost Item in Month, select March as the period.
