Definition

The valuation basis is used primarily to valuate time wage types. It defines how a wage type is valuated and is only used

  1. if the wage type in question has not been completely valuated yet
  2. if only the number field of the wage type contains an entry.

Supplementary Documentation - GVBLA 0001

Use

In this field, you define how the current wage type (base wage type) should be valuated in payroll. If you enter a wage type in the Statement Wage Type field, the valuation basis applies to this derived wage type. The following entries are possible:

  • No entry:

No valuation using a valuation basis takes place.

  • nn:

The valuation takes place with the secondary wage type /0nn.

  • K:

The valuation takes place with the corresponding wage-type-dependent constant valuation basis from the T510J table (Constant Valuations).

  • TS:

The valuation takes place with a pay-scale-dependent constant valuation basis from the T510 table (Pay Scale Group). Use this setting if you want to take account of the following criteria during the valuation of the wage type:

    • Country Grouping
    • Pay Scale Type
    • Pay Scale Area
    • Pay Scale Group
    • Pay Scale Level
    • Wage Type

The system only reads the entries in table T510 in which all corresponding fields are filled.

  • TG:

The valuation takes place, as with the TS setting, using a constant valuation basis dependent on pay scale from the T510 table. However, if you use this setting, the system does not take account of the pay scale level. The system reads only the entries in which all fields under TS apart from the Pay Scale Level field are filled from table T510.

  • T:

The valuation takes place, as with the TS setting, using a constant valuation basis dependent on pay scale from the T510 table. The system does not take account of pay scale level or the pay scale group with this setting. The system reads only the entries in the T510 table in which all the fields under the fields apart from the Pay Scale Level and Pay Scale Group fields are filled.

  • *:

If you use the syntax VALBS yz, you have to enter * if z = *. For more information, see the documentation for VALBS.

Dependencies

Example

  • You want the base wage type to be valuated with the /001 wage type.

    Enter 01 in this field.

  • You want the base wage type to be valuated using a constant valuation basis dependent on pay scale to remunerate your employees' overtime hours, for example. You want to ensure that all employees with the same pay scale type and in the same pay scale area receive a standardized overtime compensation, regardless of their pay scale group or pay scale level.

    Enter T in this field.

Supplementary Documentation - GVBLA 0002

Use

In this field, enter a valuation basis for the base wage type. The wage type entered in the key is the base wage type.

Supplementary Documentation - GVBLA 0003

Use

Procedure

First and second derived wage types enable you to define bonus wage types for which remuneration is calculated if a particular base wage type is specified or generated for the employee. It does not matter if remuneration is calculated for the base wage type itself of not.

Example

You can use first and second derived wage types to define taxable and/or tax-exempt bonuses.
