Definition

The grant type describes a grant and controls its behavior.

Use

You must assign a grant type to every grant you create. Once the grant is created, you cannot change its grant type.

During customizing, you must create at least one grant type. Each grant type should have a useful description, such as "Clinical research" or "Construction", and must have an internal or external number range and status profile assigned to it.

The grant type can also be used to control which master data fields are mandatory, hidden, or display only.

If you need a field solely for classification, consider maintaining the Award Type field.
