Documentation
Definition
Restarts the posting run selected by the external run ID.
Use
If a posting run has the status Terminated or Postprocessing Required, you can restart the run. When you restart the run, the system processes the packages of the run that have not yet been processed or contain errors.
Dependencies
However, before you restart a posting run, you need to display the application logs for the original run and resolve the errors. Note that you cannot make any changes to the file that would change the items in the document header of the file. For example, you cannot add any new line items before you restart the run. If you want to make such changes, you have to start a new ECS direct input run.
You cannot restart posting runs that have the status Undefined or Successfully Completed.
The system assigns to the run to be restarted the same run ID as the original, restarted run. The system assigns the next free number as the run version.
If you started the job under Direct Input - Manage Data Transfers, you also have to use this transaction to restart the job.
Example
Description External Run ID
Original Run ABCDEFGH0001
Additional Run ABCDEFGH0002
Restarted run for ABCDEFGH0001 ABCDEFGH0003
