Definition
Specifies the date under which a document is stored in Financial Accounting or Cost Accounting.
Use
The system derives the fiscal year and period from the posting date. The accounts and cost elements in the document are updated for the period.
During document entry, the system uses the posting period to check whether the posting date specified is valid.
Note: The posting date does not have to match the entry date (date on which the document was entered in the system) or the document date (date on which the original document was created).
