Definition

Specifies the severity of an error in an ECS item. The severity of the error governs whether the system can still post the FI document.

  • If the error is a hard error, the system can post neither a correct FI document nor a temporary document (referred to as the posted document) using the automatic correction function. This is the case if the company code is not correct, for example.
  • If the error is a soft error, the system can generate a posted document that contains automatic corrections. For example, this is the case for fields defined in Customizing for auto correction, such as the profit center and the account fields.
