Documentation
Definition
Specifies which type of check the system carries out when it corrects line items in the auto correction function.
Use
You can assign one of the following strategy categories to a derivation strategy:
- Mapping
The system converts the original values of the fields in the document that was imported from a feeder system to the values that are valid in the SAP system. This enables you to create a document that is correct and can be posted.
This means that the documents do not have to be postprocessed manually in the auto correction system, so not entries are generated for this strategy category in the auto correction system.
- Validation and Substitution
The SAP system cannot check the original fields of the document. The system replaces the values with the default values that you defined in the derivation steps. This applies in particular when items are posted to a particular account temporarily.
The system generates an entry that has to be processed manually in the auto correction system.
- Workplace field check
The system checks the content of the fields in the ECS workplace before it posts the documents.
Note: For more information about the workplace field check, see Define Auto Correction Strategies for Field Checks.
You can also specify whether the system is to cancel the process if it finds errors, and whether it should display error messages and information messages.
